Family Friendly Australian Destinations

Being able to go somewhere with the kids is essential when traveling. The more places you can travel to with your family, the more of the world you can share with your children. A lot of families visit the same places year in and year out, and that’s mostly because when it comes to kids, you want to stick with what works. If your family is the kind that wants to stretch their legs a bit and get adventurous, here are a few places in Australia you should visit.

The Sunshine Coast

Australia has a lot of coasts, and the Sunshine Coast is one of the most fun. Right on the ocean, there is so much to do in the way of activities when you visit this area. From beach activities like sunbathing and surfing, your family will have their days full. There is also an aquarium along the coast just north of Caloundra and just south of Coolum Beach. You can also visit Noosa National Park for more outdoor activities. You will have access to some of the best Sunshine Coast accommodations, and it will be easy to find a luxurious hotel with gorgeous views and top rated spas and rooms for the whole family.

Kangaroo Island

Located just off the southern coast of Australia, Kangaroo Island is a place that every family must go. There are so many outdoor activities to do here that you may only be able to visit this spot when you go to Australia. The island is most known for its pristine and diverse wildlife. When you visit you will get the chance to see wallabies and kangaroos. There is also a lot of flora like gum trees and koala’s eye. For the whole family you can hike, bushwalk, kayak, swim, cave, snorkel, and surf among other amazing things to do. There is local produce and cheeses to try, and great wineries for the adults. Also, don’t be surprised if you see a penguin or two.

Kakadu National Park

The largest national park in all of Australia, Kakadu National Park gives visitors a lot to see. The park is greatly known for the variety of ecosystems that can be found when visiting here. There are lush rainforests that give way to gorgeous waterfalls. There are woodlands, floodplains, open forests, and monsoon forests. More than just the ecosystems there is also a variety of wildlife that includes crocodiles and flatback turtles. Historically, there are cave paintings, drawings, and formations that have been created by the first people to inhabit the continent. Book a tour and book a stay at Kakadu National Park to take in the history and wonder of Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef

The number one spot in Australia, it is a natural wonder unlike any other. If you have a family that loves to snorkel, you can take to the waters of the reef and see some of the most gorgeous colours of coral, sea flowers, and fish in the entire world.
