Four Reasons You Should Go On A Family Camping Trip

When the sun is shining, and you’re stuck behind your desk at work or drowning in household cleaning duties, it’s hard to resist the idea of dropping everything and just heading on holiday. However, this quick escape may seem more impossible than ever before due to the COVID-19 pandemic and widespread travel restrictions. Nevertheless, that does not mean that your dreams of rest, fun and relaxation have to be put on hold entirely – it just means you’ll have to take the opportunity to travel within the UK! When ‘staycationing’, there’s nothing better than a caravan holiday – whether you intend to experience wild camping or stay at a holiday park where adventure lies around every twist and turn. With that in mind, here are five reasons why you should go on a family camping trip.

They are cheaper than travelling abroad

One of the main benefits of camping holidays is the simple fact that they are much cheaper than travelling. This is because you can often forgo expensive hotel bills and travel expenses in favour of something much more cost-effective. This means that camping is an excellent choice if you want to travel on a budget. Reduced expenses also mean that you could travel for a longer period of time!

You get to spend more time together

When travelling abroad, it’s likely that you won’t be spending every single minute together (especially if there’s WIFI around). Camping holidays are unique because they encourage each family member to spend quality time with each other, leaving room for plenty of deep conversations, jokes, and laughter. In fact, studies show that camping holidays are a great way to strengthen family bonds.

You get to experience nature in all of its beauty

One of the best things about heading out on a camping venture is the fact that you begin to truly appreciate the beauty in everything around you. Whether you have pitched up a tent close to a stunning loch or amongst rolling hillsides, nature will be everywhere you turn – a welcome change from the tower blocks and supermarkets you may be used to seeing every day. This also presents you with the opportunity to teach your children more about the world around them, whether you discuss how mountains were formed or teach them the names of the different animals and wildlife you happen across.

There is no limit to where you can go

When staying at a hotel (particularly the all-inclusive kind), you may feel as though you are slightly limited in terms of where you can go, meaning you’ll likely stay within the vicinity of the complex throughout your travels or splash out on expensive excursions. However, when camping, you are behind the driver’s seat – meaning you get to decide exactly where you go and when. This means that you could even camp at multiple destinations throughout your trip (if you think you could survive a long road trip with kids, that is).
