Living Arrows: Week Forty Two

Like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, I’m late. I’m always late these days. Whether it’s to meet friends or just getting to bed, it feels like our lives are in a constant rush at the moment! Thankfully, deadlines seem to be being hit so it can’t be that bad just yet. At least this week I have a good excuse; we’re away, HURRAH! So whilst we’re huddled in our ‘villa’ in North Devon, hiding from the wind and drizzle, I can catch up on this week’s Living Arrows post.

This last week we’ve started going through an obsessive stage. Whether it’s the blanket that he insists on dragging around the house (heaven forbid we get him up in the night without it!) or the wellies that he wants to wear permanently, we’ve got a little man with a bit of an attachment issue.

My favourite example has to be his trike. A birthday present back in May, he’s shown a huge amount of indifference toward it over the past five months. Until now. Now he’s obsessive about it. “BIKE”, he shouts at the top of his voice, over and over. ‘Dada, Bell, Bike!’ which is generally interpreted as a demand for him, Daddy and the dog (Bella) to go for a bike-walk. Poor old mummy doesn’t get a look in!

This weekend, he just wanted to sit on it in the garden. Content to sit making bike noises whilst Dave cut the lawn, he went on a bike ride after and still didn’t want to get off. We ended up having to pretend to shut him in the garage at one point… and he was STILL happy! I think he’d sleep on it if we gave him the chance!

This is funny how they get obsessed with things over a certain period of time. He has all the right to be with this bike. He looks like a champion! #LivingArrows

Ah he is so cute! I remember this phase well – we spent months with Athena wearing a winter hat indoors – it made her happy, who were we to argue! x

It’s just easier to give in sometimes isn’t it?! Who knew little ones could be SO persuasive?!
