Three Special Things To Share This Easter

Just like last Easter, we aren’t going to be able to spend this year’s holiday with loved ones because of the current Covid-19 lockdown rules. While the restrictions are set to be eased soon, it won’t happen before the Easter weekend. But that doesn’t mean you can’t show someone special that you are thinking about them and there are many things you can do to get into the Spring spirit and connect with relatives, friends, children and parents.

Modern technology now means that there is pretty much no limit as to what can be purchased on the internet and some things you might want to send include:

  • Online gifts
  • Personal cards
  • Video calls

Gifting via online means is nothing new and is now a part of everyday life while personalised cards are a great way to add a special touch and video calling has now become a vital form of communication.

Online Gifts

Sending gifts through the medium of the internet has been around for a long time but the use of online retail with sites such as Amazon, Etsy and Prezzy Box has risen sharply over the past 12 months as shoppers prefer to stay inside during the pandemic. There are tons of gift ideas that you can choose from when looking at these sites and some of them contain things that cannot be found anywhere else.

Prezzy Box is offering letterbox gifts that can be posted and contain such things as chocolates, sweets and novelties, and while these are certainly nice gifts, an older relative may just prefer a nice bouquet. The internet has tons of botanical sites which means that you can have them sent to and from almost anywhere which means that online flower delivery to Barcelona, for example, is just as quick and easy as anything else.

Personalised Cards

Everyone loves a personalised gift since it shows that extra thought has gone into it and the personal touch deepens the connection to an item. There are many personalised gifts available from sites such as Personalise for adults and Wonderfully which makes books for the children but the rise of personalised cards has been phenomenal.

Moonpig is especially good for this and offers well-designed cards for all budgets. The platform also allows you to upload photos that can be placed onto the cards for funny, special or touching moments that the recipient will treasure forever. Be sure to order your Easter cards a little earlier since Covid-19 restrictions mean that orders can take a little longer to be delivered.

Video Calls

FaceTime and Zoom have been around for a while but were considered more of a novelty feature that wasn’t really used much, but the restriction of travel during Coronavirus has meant that video calling has become a normal part of life rather than for the odd business meeting between out of hours professionals.

While not really a gift, making a video call to a relative, friend or special person over the holidays will show that you care and bring you closer together while lockdown restrictions are in place. The rise of video calls since the start of the virus has been astronomical with more video calls being placed in 2020 than ever before.
