Living Arrows: Week Eighteen

This bank holiday weekend has been a busy one for us, we finally got round to having our Christening! We umm-ed and ahhh-ed over having one for a long time as we’ve not really religious people but in the end tradition won out. So this weekend has been spent frantically sorting space and food for 60+ family members and then spending Sunday enjoying the fruits of our labour!

Unfortunately, for the first time in weeks the heavens opened on Sunday which meant our celebrations were confined to inside but that didn’t dampen the celebratory atmosphere. I’m a big believer that religion, whatever form it takes, is more about bringing people together and this weekend has certainly done that. We went back to the church where we got married which brought back so many memories of it’s own! It was wonderful to see all of the people who care most about our son in one place and, whilst we don’t think he really knew what was happening, he had a great time running up and down the aisle of the church and around my parents house afterwards. Never has a little boy been so spoilt!!

Living Arrows Week 18

I found myself quite emotional about the whole thing last night. At times like this it strikes me just how lucky we are as a family to have so many people around us who care about us. I can’t believe our son gets to grow up with this many people to love him!! With the christening done, we roll pretty quickly in to the next big event… he turns ONE a fortnight today… I’m not sure I can cope with how quickly he’s growing up!

Soppy post over!

I LOVE his outfit! What a little sweetheart. I am so happy that the Christening went well for you. Family occasions such as christenings and weddings are always such lovely times.

He was SO cute in it. I wanted to eat him up! It went wonderfully thank you, although that’s me done on family gatherings for a little while! x

I’m so glad the christening went well. We ummed and ahhhed too but in the end decided against it. Its a great opportunity to get family and friends all together though.

You are indeed lucky to have such huge family and still remain in close ties with them. The kid is so sweet and advance birthday wishes to the little one.

We’re very lucky! Sometimes I wish they were SLIGHTLY further away but most of the time it’s wonderful. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Adore his little suit! My other half and I also talked about the possibilities of a Christening but decided against it. Totally with you on the time flying by during their first year. Eco recently turned 14 months and already want time to just slow down! #livingarrows

His christening sounds lovely. We didn’t get either of ours christened but we’re not religious in the slightest and didn’t have that many people to invite so we didn’t worry about it but it sounds like you had a really lovely celebration x

It was! We’re not religious either, we got married in a church but we’re more about the tradition than anything else!! x
