This week has definitely been up there with one of our most testing as parents. Of all the things that I can cope with; tantrums, lack of sleep, nappy explosions, there’s one thing that makes my stomach churn. Sickness. I’ve been dreading the day a stomach bug hits us, so you can imagine what happened this last week…
Having spent most of the week either being sick or dealing with sick, I can assure you it still makes my insides do funny things. It’s also meant a bit of a dull week in our household which is something I’ve felt guilty about. Luckily, Dave managed to mostly avoid it whilst I curled up in the bed for 48 hours groaning, so there’s been lots of father and son time. Which to this kid is unbelievable, Daddy is definitely number one at the moment!
The boys did some gardening, walked the dog, built forts and cuddled on the sofa watching tractor videos. All the things a toddler could want from life! It made me realise just how precious our weekends are together, particularly for the two of them to spend some quality time together. In a bleary, post illness state, I got this cheeky photo sent to me from one of their favourite places, the park. I don’t know why I was worried about him having a rubbish time whilst we were ill, just look at the smile on his face!

Poor you ! there’s nothing worse is there. We were the same last month, once one of you goes down the rest follow and the clean up when you are feeling unwell too is just the worst !
It looks like your little boy had a great time with daddy despite the sickness. I hope you are feeling better this week x #LivingArrows
It’s definitely the worst, there’s nothing more miserable than having to clean the bathroom over and over when you just want to collapse in a heap! Thankfully it’s all over now, fingers crossed that’s it for us for years!!
Look at that little face!! We’re so lucky in that we’ve not had any sickness bugs for a very long time – touch wood!! It’s great when they get to spend so much time with Daddy though – mine definitely idolise theirs! #LivingArrows
It’s been lovely, although I think Dave was desperate for a break by the end. He was moaning about how exhausting it all is — yeah, welcome to my world!!!
Oh bless you lovely, sounds like you’ve had a week of it! Sickness bugs are awful! Gorgeous photos and hope this week is much easier for you xx
It’s been far nicer thank you!! We’re still a bit bug riddled but fingers crossed this weekend is more fun than the last one!
We have just recovered from a sickness bug that hit us all over the half term and I can fully sympathise, its the worst bug we have had in over 10 years! I hope you are feeling much better now. Its hard not to worry & feel guilty I was exactly the same, but it definitely looks like your little man had a fantastic time with his Dad. Daddy is number one in our house too!
It’s horrible isn’t it? I swear we forgot how bad sickness is! I was all ‘I can handle this, I’m a mum, I’m unbreakable’ and then it broke me!! Sorry to hear you’ve had the same! x
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, sickness bugs are just miserable. Hope you’re feeling much better. x #LivingArrows
