Never one to be left out, I’d be a fool not to mention snow this week as part of our update. It’s incredibly rare that we get snow here given that we’re so southern and so near to the seat. This week is no exception! Whilst the rest of the world (okay, Instagram!) seems to have been blessed with piles of the stuff for their children to look adorable in, our garden has remained resolutely brown and muddy.
On Saturday, we did our best to overcome this and headed to a local outdoor area known as Holden Hill. There are a number of trails; walking and cycling, here with one of the most popular being the Gruffalo trail. So we set off to find him! In amongst the stick men figures and the wooden dens, we found something even more exciting… snow! Sure, it was minimal and very sad looking in comparison to some photos I’ve seen but nonetheless it entertained the boys for ages.
After such a high, our Gruffalo hunt ended with a grump. Annoyed at not being allowed to walk the entire way (it was getting dark!) or being allowed to live forever with the snow and muddy puddles, someone had a screaming fit for the entire second half of the trail. So much for a relaxing family walk! We eventually made it back to the car with a very grouchy Gruffalo hunter and two worn out parents. At least the dog had a good time!

I love these pictures so much. They’re just too cute! And that cute little snowman you adopted is adorable. #LivingArrows
Adorable and rather scabby… poor neglected thing!
We’ve had no snow in Hampshire and I have been so envious of seeing everyone’s beautiful snowy pictures #LivingArrows
Me too!! There was absolutely none where we live, just rain rain rain!
I can’t believe Dave screamed for the entire second half of the trail. What a spoilt sport! 😛
I know. Taking him out in public is increasingly difficult!
At least the dog enjoyed the walk. I think it’s too cold for my toddler. Lovely photo #livingarrows
One out of two isn’t bad!
Glad the dog enjoyed themself!! #LivingArrows
Thank goodness, at least one of the kids did!
Oh no, it’s always a shame when a nice trip out ends in tears isn’t it! At least you all had some snowy fun at the start! We didn’t get much at all here, so no snowmen at all for us. x #LivingArrows
I think we’re just at that ‘independent’ stage!
We have had no snow settle here either but I am loving seeing all the snow across social media x
It’s lovely isn’t it? Everything looks so pretty with a coating of snow!
A pity you didn’t get much snow. We’ve had a bit to build a snowman but we didn’t stay out long in it. #LivingArrows
We had lots of snow, I’d have been happy to send it down to you. At least you were able to experience some of it. #livingarrows
