Living Arrows: Week Seventeen

Today’s Living Arrows post comes off the back of a very active week once again, we’ve been up to EVERYTHING! From coffee dates to babies on the beach during the week, we’ve had a weekend of family time, tried (and failed) to sort out next weekend’s Christening and finally, we’ve been to a rave. Yes, you read that right. We went raving. As a family.

Sunday saw us make our way in to Exeter to attend a Big Fish, Little Fish children’s rave. I’ll write about it properly at some stage but it really was a different experience. We booked it a long time ago and completely forgot that fancy dress was ‘optional’… let’s face it, that means it’s mandatory doesn’t it? Less than an hour before leaving I found myself taking part in a parenting rite of passage – cobbling an outfit together from nothing! Have to say, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out… can you guess what he is?!

Yup, that’s right, he was a pirate (if you didn’t guess correctly then you can leave now…). We went with some friends which led to us being more excited at taking photos of their fancy dress before hand than at the actual event. Also an interesting experience walking three tired pirates back through a busy city centre to the car, but that’s another story. We raved hard, laughed at how times had changed and were in our pyjamas within five minutes of being home. Such a bizarre end to the week!

I bet you can’t beat that….

Eek! Look how gorgeous he is! How talented are you at doing last miniute fancy dress?! Glad you had fun at the baby rave. I need to find out if there’s one around here now!

My goodness, it was so stressful trying to pull it all together but he looked AWESOME. I think I may dress him everyday like that. Also realised sewing is STILL not my thing! Yes, check them out! I’d say it’s worth waiting a little longer but each place will be different… nice to have a boogie (at 3pm on a Sunday)

Dev wins Living Arrows week 17. Baby raves sound awesome and much more exciting than the usual play groups. I’m very jealous! X

Wooop wooop! (sorry thought I was still raving!) It was fun, far better than boring old soft play, although we did stop in there afterwards for a coffee. Talk about glutton for punishment! x

I love that picture! He looks absolutely brilliant. I’d love to go to one of those but sadly don’t think we’ll ever get the chance as we’re about to leave the UK. #livingarrows

Ahh thank you!!! Oh that’s such a shame, don’t worry, you could probably manage your own by shutting the curtains, turning the beats up loud and dancing like idiots around the lounge! x

He has to be the cutest little pirate I’ve ever seen!! #livingarrows

I’m totally biased but yes, yes he is!!!

Oh my gosh, he’s the cutest little pirate ever. That’s such an adorable picture. I love how everyone is venturing outside more. Nature creates the most beautiful backdrop 🙂 #LivingArrows

Oh your pirate is just the cutest – that is one awesome outfit, better than anything I could do in that time frame! x

I think I might always dress him as a pirate in times to come!! Just a casual weekend outfit…

Thank you, I was rather ridiculously proud. I’m so bad at sewing, I ended up sellotaping a bit of it together!
