This week has been all about getting the house ready for Autumn. We painted the bathroom, gave the front gate a makeover, finished some decorating bits and cut the lawn. It’s been great to get things a bit more sorted but it’s meant we’ve ended up parenting through bribery most of the time. In an attempt to get him away for the paint, the boys took their regular weekend trip to the park. We’re so lucky to live in a house where there’s plenty of outside space but everyone knows parks are more exciting! Our village has one next to the cricket pitch so off they went.
After plenty of playing on the swings and the activity centre, someone attracted some new friends in the form of a couple of older girls (the toddler, not the husband!). Cue lots of running around with them on the cricket pitch and throwing the freshly cut grass in the air. He came home grassy, exhausted but so, so happy with himself. What is it with little ones loving older children? We went to a gymnastics group in the morning and he barely bats an eyelid at his own age group, instead wanting to be part of the older kids part. Stop wishing away your childhood baby boy, there’s plenty of time for older ladies when you’re grown up!
