Styling Yourself For A Night Out: Our Guide

After spending most of 2020 in lockdown, nights out are finally back on. At first, you are filled with joy and anticipation. Then reality sets in and you suddenly remember going out means getting dressed. What on earth will I wear? Has your lockdown wardrobe been reduced to mismatched pyjamas and anything stretchy? Jeans, no thanks? Well, now it’s time to migrate back into clothes, real clothes. After all this time it’s not surprising that we have all lost a sense of style. Don’t worry we are here to help. Take a little look at our guide below and you’ll be back to your stylish self in no time.

The Casual Night

Nights out don’t always have to be about glitz and glamour. Maybe you are just going for a cosy night to the cinema or a fun night bowling with friends. This is the perfect time to team comfort and style. Team a chic top and a pair of jeans with some pumps or trainers. Not only will you be on trend you will be comfortable so it’s a win-win. It can get cold, especially in the air-conditioned cinema so complete the look with a coat or jacket. A long puffer coat will help you keep warm in style. Or add a bit of texture to your outfit with a short, quilted jacket. Either way, don’t underestimate the power of coats and jackets, they can make the outfit look more complete.

The Date Night

Date nights most often include food, could be a fancy restaurant or something lower key. Either way, make sure you wear something comfortable. All too often we make the mistake of wearing something too tight to eat or sit down in. The same thing goes for something too short; you might be going for a little sexy but there’s nothing sexy about someone tugging at their skirt all night. A jumpsuit and block heels is a great option.

The Culture Night

Why not go and enjoy some live entertainment? We have all had enough of screens and seriously you must have watched just about everything on Netflix by now. A play at the local theatre, a music gig or a comedy club are all excellent nights out. Theatres tend to be a little classy so why not wear a nice dress and some heels if you can manage it. A leather jacket and some high waisted jeans would look great at a music gig.

The Party Night

Now’s the time to bust out something a little special. Whether you are going to a bar, club, or venue this is your chance to get dressed to impress. Try a figure-hugging bodycon dress and some killer heels, team it with a statement bag to finish the look. A blazer and little black dress with some ankle boots ooze understated glamour and is perfect for drinks in a trendy bar. Don’t forget to add some statement jewellery too.

Now you are outfit ready it’s time to plan your next night out and remember the most important lesson when styling yourself is to choose something you feel good in.
