You’ve all heard me rambling on enough but what about the baby behind the blog? Who is the guy that put the mama in Devon Mama? What floats his boat, tickles his fancy, gets his nappy in a twist? We sat down to interview him for #thelittleone tag and here’s what he had to say…
What’s the best thing about being 8 months old?
I can move pretty quickly now so the best thing is being able to take part in everything that’s going on around me. People call me nosey but I prefer to call myself inquisitive; I don’t have to sit in one place anymore and there’s a whole world to explore. If I get bored of my toys, I can chase the dog and still get away with it because I’m a ‘baby’. Then, once I’ve had enough, I just make some grumpy noises and I get picked up… easy!!
… And what’s the worst thing?
Everyone thinks I need to sleep more. It’s all they ever seem to talk about! I don’t think I need a nap in the day, let alone two! As for the evenings, I’d much rather hang out downstairs than go to bed but they seem adamant that I have to go up!
What’s your favourite toy?
I’ve always loved the Jumperoo, sometimes I bounce in it so hard that I think I might just about be able to touch the ceiling but I’ve not managed it yet. I got lots of toys for Christmas, including a wooden trolley that my Grandpa made for my mama when she was my age. Can you imagine? It must be ancient! My favourite toy though is the coffee table in the lounge. Mama and Daddy really enjoy it when I stand there and bang my bricks on it, I love making them that happy!
What’s your favourite thing to do?
When I’m at home, my favourite thing to do is to stand at the top of the stairs and pretend I’m in jail behind the baby gate. If we’re going out, I love seeing my friends. I quite often take Mama with me to see them so that she can have a catch up with her friends too, I’m really lucky that she seems to like my friend’s parents!
What’s your favourite thing to wear?
I have LOTS of clothes but my favourite thing to wear is NOTHING! It always makes me laugh when I’ve got no clothes on and Daddy’s chasing me trying to put a nappy on me. Sometimes I do a little wee just to keep them entertained. If I absolutely HAVE to wear clothes then I like to rock the whole jogger bottoms and a casual long-sleeved tee look. For ages, Mama would only let me wear white babygrows but now we’ve finally got some colour in our lives. Personally, I think I look great in anything.
What’s your favourite song?
My favourite song is ‘Say Hello To The Sun’ from my Baby Sensory classes. We always sing it in the car as it stops me from getting too grumpy. I also like ‘You Are My Sunshine’, especially when Mama changes the words to put my name into it. Sometimes Daddy sings me a nursery rhyme, we find him funny because he never knows the right words so he just makes it up and thinks I don’t realise!
What’s your favourite food?
I love blueberries, yoghurt and breadsticks but not all together! I’m still learning all the foods but I eat some yummy things, like Mama’s fish fingers! If I had to just live off one thing though it would still be milk.. I know I should be eating more foods but I enjoy my milk far too much. Plus, I get to snuggle in to Mama at the same time and she gets to have a break from doing jobs so I think she likes it too.
What’s your favourite thing to watch on TV?
I don’t really like TV very much. If we’re home all day, we’ll have it on in the background but I don’t really watch it. I think Mama enjoys a bit of Paw Patrol as her and Daddy are always singing the theme tune when they think I can’t hear. I also caught her googling Sofia the First the other day… sometimes I do worry about her!
What’s your favourite book?
At the moment, I quite like ‘Wow, said the Owl’. It’s got lots of lovely bright colours and it’s all about an owl who hates sleeping – just like me!! I try and help out with the turning the pages but my help isn’t always appreciated.
What makes you laugh?
When Mama nibbles on my toes or fingers, when Daddy blows raspberries on my tummy or when anyone plays peek-a-boo with me. I’m a pretty happy kinda baby, I laugh a lot!
Who do you love, and why?
Oh wow, I have lots of people I love as I have lots of family around me and heaps of friends. Mama is always telling me how lucky I am to have so many people that love me back! I love Mama as she’s always there for me, she always says ‘Hey baby… mama’s here, mama’s here’ when I start to get fussy or confused and I know I’m safe. My Daddy always says we’re ‘bestest friends’… we like to wind Mama up by being naughty together and sometimes we make dens out of cushions and I pretend to be a soldier and crawl through pillow tunnels!
So there we have it! Hopefully, you’ve got a little more of an idea about the little guy who rules this roost; the baby behind the blog.
