Top Family Shows Coming To Torquay

On a rainy day in Torquay, it can be difficult to find a fun, engaging activity for kids. So, why not try a trip to the theatre? Despite being a small, seaside city, Torquay offers an array of exciting new family shows touring all year round. However, at the same time, the theatre is also an expensive family day out, so it is worth finding the best possible ticket deals and comparing prices. Here are some of the top family shows visiting Torquay in 2020:

Riverdance

A sparkling celebration of Irish and international dance, Riverdance has been wowing audiences for over 25 years with its incredible fusion of awe-inspiring choreography, music, projection and costume. Whether your children love the world of dance or are yet to discover it, Riverdance will not only be an unforgettable and powerful introduction, but also a chance to discover an important aspect of Irish culture. As part of its extensive UK tour, Riverdance is coming to the Princess Theatre from the 26th-27th May. With a recommended age of 5 and over, a trip to see Riverdance makes the perfect family day out!

Shrek The Musical

Inspired one of the most successful and uplifting films of all time, Shrek, the much-loved angry ogre living in a swamp, has been brought to life with a spectacular new musical production. Shrek the Musical follows the unique and hilarious adventure of Shrek, who, accompanied by a talking Donkey, must complete the quest of rescuing Princess Fiona from her tower. Featuring  songs from the film’s iconic soundtrack, spectacular set designs and all the usual Shrek-like humour, Shrek the Musical can be enjoyed by both parents and children alike. Showing at the Princess Theatre from the 24th-27th June, Shrek the Musical will transport you to a magical land, far far away…

The Tiger Who Came To Tea

Everyone is familiar with Judith Kerr’s delightful story of Sophie, who is joined for tea by a big friendly tiger. But have you experienced the live stage production? Bringing the colourful pages of the best-selling picture book to life, the Olivier Award Winning Production of the Tiger Who Came To Tea has been thrilling audiences for over 10 years. With a furry life-sized tiger, catchy songs and laugh-out-loud, slap-stick humour, your children will undoubtedly leave the theatre with big smiles on their faces. Coming to the Torquay Theatre from the 29th -30th April, the Tiger Who Came To Tea is certainly a show for the little ones to enjoy!
