This week we’ve been to the big city; that’s right, we went to London! Our original plan was for us to see Adele on Sunday night but, if you’ve read the news, you’ll know that was cancelled. Whilst frustrating, we’re fortunate that we were staying with family so, instead of making our way to Wembley, we had a lazy city weekend instead.
Saturday was spent with a slow cruise around Kensington Palace Gardens; not somewhere we’d ever been before. We strapped the reins on and let the boy do some wandering of his own. Typically, he spent the whole time going in the complete opposite direction! Reins are a bit of new territory for us, it felt like having the dog with us except with even less control. It’s something we all need to get used to given that he hates holding hands already. It was lovely though to watch him explore a bit more freely. He’s so determined and has absolutely no fear, something which makes me proud and terrified at the same time!
From there we went to the Princess Diana Memorial Playground. I’d thoroughly recommend a visit if you’ve got some free time in London. It’s themed around pirate ships and there’s plenty of play space for children of all ages. We were a little unprepared for the sand and water combination though, thankfully it was roastingly hot so his sandy toes dried quickly! Sunday saw us do much of the same; a lazy lunch and a stroll around Battersea Park with a break for an ice cream, obviously. Once again, he was off. If he’s not chasing down unsuspecting dogs, he’s picking at the minute things in the grass; flowers, feathers, sticks. Our child is clearly a magpie of some description and completely happy in his own little world half of the time!

Glad that you got to make the most of your weekend despite the cancellation of some of your plans. The weather looks like it was super and I’m sure you were glad to get away from your building work!
It was SO hot! Perfect weather really for an outdoor concert in the evening but never mind!! It was lovely to get away, just a shame to come back really!
Shame about your concert but it looks like you had a lovely weekend all the same. Lovely pictures of your little man! #livingarrows
We had a great time thanks, the nice weather made it wonderful!
We’ve never been to the Memorial Playground but I’ve never heard anything bad said about it. It sounds like you had a lovely weekend – despite the cancelled concert! x
I would recommend it so much – it was wonderful, even on a hot saturday afternoon!
Sorry to hear that your concert was cancelled but glad you turned it into a fabulous weekend. I am currently toying with the idea of using reigns on Eco but not sure I always said I would never use them. Keen to see how you get on with them. #LivingArrows
They’re a bit of a steep learning curve but I think we’re both starting to master them. I hate the idea but the reality is it lets him run around and have a little freedom in places where otherwise he’d be strapped in the pushchair or a danger to himself! Good luck!!
