Creating A Blush Pink Scandi Girl’s Bedroom

Remember when I swore I wouldn’t have a pink loving girly girl? Well, guess what. Not only does she love pink, she’s also pretty heavily invested into unicorns as well. So when it came to upgrading her from the nursery into a big girl’s bedroom, there were no surprises that she asked for a unicorn and pink room. Fantastic! The challenge then became how to take our old grey and mustard bedroom and turn it into a pink girl’s bedroom that she loves. Answer? We had to get creating a blush pink, scandi style girl’s bedroom, complete with unicorns. Easy!

Whilst researching this decorating upgrade, it became clear that there are two types of bedrooms out there – the sickly pink, more basic rooms and the beautifully styled scandi ones that I couldn’t see lasting two minutes in our household. We ended up with a mix of the two and I hope created a room that will grow with her, simply by changing out some of the accessories as she grows. If you’re looking for something a little more neutral, then we recommend checking out white and grey scandi bedrooms too.

Creating A Scandi-Style, Pink Girl’s Bedroom (With Unicorns!)

This room used to be our master bedroom before we did our renovations so it’s a large space. We wanted it to feel cosy and inviting as it’s north-facing and gets little natural light, especially in the winter months. We also had some elements that were staying from when we had slept in there – the double bed, or if you’d like something new just for your child, try one of these solid wooden beds that will last for years (here’s why I believe a double bed is great for a toddler though!), the large yellow chair and the mirror. Otherwise I’ll try to list where you can find different elements below, please note that some of these may be affiliate links.
