Our Favourites: Subscription Gifts

Whether it’s Christmas or a birthday, the build up to any celebration is always one that’s filled with anticipation. The parties, the present buying and if it’s Christmas; the daily chocolate to start the day… what’s not to love?  But I think we can all agree that afterwards sucks. Like, properly sucks. So I’m a bit in love this year with the idea of subscription gifts that keep giving that general good-feeling going throughout the year. Here are some of my favourites;

Flowers from Bloom & Wild

Flowers through the post? I was skeptical too but having received and sent many bundles through Bloom & Wild, I can vouch for their gorgeousness and longevity. One of my favourite subscription gifts, you can send just the one bundle or sign up to a three month subscription and send them to anyone with a letterbox; just select the arrangement you want to go for, enter the recipients details and select a delivery date… voila! They specialise (obviously) in flowers but also offer seasonal gifts, chocolates and other goodies to add to your order. Last year I sent my mum a mini-Christmas tree which even came with baubles. Incredible.

Socks from London Sock Company

What better Dad gift than socks? It’s a classic. But socks have come a long way since the ones I used to buy for my Dad, and for those interested in style and always losing socks, a sock subscription is the key. You select how frequently you want the socks delivered, where and the recipients shoe size and bingo… they keep coming! As a gift you can send a voucher for them to activate the subscription. I’ve not used them personally but I’d love to update a couple sock drawers of the men in my life so they should watch out!

Cooking Classes At Home From The Spicery

I LOVE the boxes from The Spicery. We first saw them a few years ago at a friends house and since then have subscribed ourselves countless times. We’ve gifted subscriptions to people who’ve then gone on to gift subscriptions themselves.. honestly, try them and you can’t help but be impressed. The Spicery send you a monthly box filled with the spices (hence the name!), recipe and shopping list to make the chosen meal. We’re no gourmet chefs but they really do make delicious meals easy. We’ve only ever tried the curries subscription which is my absolute favourite but they have other packages available such as date nights, meat free magic and even baking from around the world. This gift is perfect for anyone who likes cooking/has a kitchen/likes eating. So… everyone. Just bear in mind they’re a bit addictive.

Beauty Products from BirchBox

These boxes are always popping up on my Facebook timeline. They seem to have really taken off. From just £10 a month, you get a box arriving packed full of beauty products, albeit it smaller sizes than normal. Great for the woman in your life who you’re not quite sure what to get, the idea is that it introduces you to a plethora of new brands; five a month to be precise! You get your products monthly, try them and personalise your profile so that going forward they can tailor what arrives to suit your beauty needs. It’s one I’d love to try as I’m not the most outgoing when it comes to trying new beauty regimes!

Baby Products from Sassy Bloom

As someone’s who’s firmly in the ‘what do I buy for a new parent?’ camp, the Sassy Bloom boxes have it pretty covered. Tailored to the child’s age, gender and development stage, the boxes can contain anything from plush toys, to bath toys, even goodies for mum! They’re not the cheapest subscription at £25.95 a month but they guarantee that each box will contain between £40 and £80 worth of products. Boxes range from birth up to three years old so it really can be the gift that keeps giving on a monthly basis for a good few years! I know a few new parents who’ve received these and completely raved about them, the review pages and happy faces above really speak for themselves!

What subscription gifts do you like? Would you give someone a gift that keeps giving? Or better yet, ask for one?
